Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using Upskwela
Platform Overview
What is a community learning platform?
A community learning platform combines online courses with community features like discussions, chats, and member interactions. Unlike traditional course platforms, it focuses on building engaged learning communities. Upskwela is the best community learning platform in the Philippines, offering courses, forums, chats, events, and membership tiers all in one place.
Is Upskwela better than Skool or Kajabi for Filipino educators?
Yes! For Filipino educators, Upskwela is the better choice. We offer local payments (GCash/Maya), PHP pricing that's 90% cheaper than Kajabi, and features built specifically for the Philippines market that Skool and Kajabi don't offer. Upskwela is the only all-in-one learning platform designed for Filipino creators.
What makes Upskwela an "all-in-one learning platform"?
Upskwela combines everything you need in one platform: course creation, community forums, group chats, calendar events, membership tiers, payment processing (GCash/Maya), analytics, and AI content tools. You no longer need 5–7 tools to manage your community and courses—Upskwela is your all-in-one learning platform.
Can I accept GCash and Maya payments?
Absolutely! Upskwela is the best learning platform in PH for local payments. Accept payments through GCash, Maya, credit/debit cards, and other Philippine payment methods. No need for expensive international payment processors like Stripe or PayPal. No need to handle the payment processing yourself - Upskwela handles it for you.
How does the payment integration work?
Upskwela uses Xendit as our payment provider to accept GCash, Maya, credit/debit cards, and bank transfers. When learners join your community, payments are automatically processed and tracked in your dashboard. No setup required - everything is built-in and ready to use from day one.
General
How much does Upskwela cost?
Upskwela starts completely free with our Free Forever plan. As you grow, upgrade to Plus (₱999/month) or Pro (₱4,999/month) for more earnings. Unlike other learning platforms that charge in USD, we price in PHP to make it affordable for Filipino educators.
Is the plan pricing per user or per community?
Pricing is per community you create. Each community you create requires its own subscription plan. You pay a monthly fee based on your chosen tier (Free Forever, Plus, Pro, or Enterprise).
There are no platform fees for learners. You only pay the membership fee set by the community creator to access their courses and content.
How do I create a community?
Sign up or log in to your account → Navigate to your dashboard → Click the "Create Community" button → Fill in your community details (name, description, cover and teaser video) → Done
Can I create membership tiers for my community?
Yes! You can create multiple membership tiers tailored to your community's needs. For example, a Fitness Community could offer: Weight Loss Plan (₱999/month), Muscle Building Plan (₱1,299/month), Contest Prep Plan (₱2,499/month). Or an Art Community might have: Beginner Artist (₱599/month), Pro Artist with 1-on-1 Sessions (₱2,999/month). Each tier can include different courses, resources, and perks.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
Start with our Free Forever plan to explore the platform. You can upgrade whenever you're ready to access more features.
What are AI Credits?
AI Credits are used for AI-powered content generation of courses and lessons. Each credit allows you to generate educational content, quizzes, and learning materials using our advanced AI tools. Credits are included with your plan and can be used anytime.
Pricing & Commissions
How does the commission work?
Platform share is automatically deducted from each transaction based on your tier plan. Each tier has its own platform share rate: Free Forever (35%), Plus (20%), Pro (10%), and Enterprise (Custom). This platform share is deducted from every member who joins your community or any payment you receive from your community.
What are transaction fees?
Transaction fees are payment processing fees charged by our payment provider. Local transactions are charged 3.2% + ₱10, while international transactions are charged 4.2% + ₱10 per transaction. These are standard industry rates for secure payment processing.
Payouts & Earnings
How often will I get paid?
Upskwela processes payouts to creators every 14 days (bi-weekly) by default. This helps us keep fees low and ensures smooth, consistent disbursements.
Can I request faster payouts?
Yes. For high-volume creators, we offer weekly payouts. You may also request early payouts in special cases (subject to review and possible service fees).
What's the minimum payout amount?
To avoid unnecessary disbursement fees, we set a minimum payout threshold of ₱1,000. Your balance will continue to roll over until it reaches this amount, then it will be included in the next payout cycle.
Where can I receive my payouts?
We support payouts to Philippine bank accounts (via Instapay up to ₱50,000/transaction, or Pesonet for larger amounts) and E-wallets like GCash, Maya, and GrabPay (up to ₱50,000/transaction).
Is there a payout limit?
There's no overall limit on how much Upskwela can pay you. Some payment methods have per-transaction limits (₱50,000 for Instapay and most e-wallets). If your earnings exceed that, we'll use Pesonet or split into multiple transactions.
What if my community grows big and I earn a lot?
Congratulations 🎉 If your payout balance grows significantly (₱100K+), we'll work with you to arrange weekly bank transfers so you get faster access to your funds while avoiding small transfer caps.
Do I need to do anything to receive my payout?
No. As long as you've verified your community and added your bank or e-wallet details in your account settings, payouts will be processed automatically according to the schedule.
